The investment aims to further develop the innovative EGS technology on a market-based basis and to establish a successful pilot project in the Battonya concession area. The project will involve drilling wells to a depth of approximately 3,500 - 4,000 m and sliding a layer to create an artificial reservoir in the hot and dry rock layers of the Pannonian Basin, which will be able to store water extracted from the surface and heat it to generate electricity.
